Domaine de la Genillotte

David DEPUYDT

THE DOMAIN

Son of a farmer and winegrower from Nantes, Michel SOURICE left his region in 1965 to manage a 40-hectare estate in the Chablis area. He set up in 1972 by renting 12 hectares of vines. He then created a 15-hectare estate. In 1993 his son-in-law David DEPUYDT took over the estate. While keeping the typicity of the wines specific to the estate, he brings new techniques and start to develop sales activity, mainly for some export markets.

Located in the village of Lignorelles, Domaine de la Genillotte comprises 16 hectares of Chablis, with vines aged between 30 and 40 years.

A main parcel of 12 hectares is located in the “petit bois de la Genillotte” climat, on a plateau with Portlandian limestone soil. The other parcels, representing 4 hectares, are spread over different, highly fragmented areas of Lignorelles, with Kimeridigian and Portlandian clay-limestone soils.
