A FAMILY-RUN ESTATE
Family-owned since 1910, Domaine Collotte now cultivates 16 hectares of vineyards, with one defining thread running through its history: Marsannay.
For more than a century, each generation has devoted its life to this village and its vineyards, nestled in the northern part of the Côte de Nuits.
Driven by conviction and a deep love for the terroir, the estate has steadily grown. Over the past 40 years, its vineyard holdings have expanded from 3 to 16 hectares. While some plots are located in Chambolle-Musigny, Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin, it is in Marsannay-la-Côte that the heart of Domaine Collotte truly lies.
Clos de Jeu, Champ Salomon, Boivin, Grasses Têtes and Combereau: each of Marsannay’s Climats tells a story, immersing us in the heritage of an estate deeply proud of its roots.
THE VINEYARDS
Philippe and Isabelle Collotte understand that everything begins in the vineyard, out among the rows of vines, day after day. They know their vines inside out. Over the years, they have come to understand their individual character, recognise their strengths and weaknesses, and adapt their approach accordingly. In their hands, every plot becomes unique, from Marsannay to Chambolle-Musigny, and from Fixin to Gevrey-Chambertin.
Philippe Collotte practises meticulous viticulture, with the utmost respect for the soil, plant life and wildlife. Certified at Level 3 under France’s High Environmental Value (HVE) scheme, the estate does not seek to control the vine at all costs, but rather to guide and nurture it as carefully as possible, vintage after vintage.
WINEMAKING
Both in the winery and in the cellar, Isabelle Collotte’s primary aim is to reveal the distinctive identity of each terroir. This pursuit of authenticity is reflected in a gentle approach to winemaking and carefully judged ageing.
The goal is to preserve the very essence of the terroir. From harvest to bottling, the wine is never forced or pushed beyond its natural limits. Instead, it is carefully guided to express the greatest possible pleasure, finesse and freshness.
