Bourgogne de Vigne en Verre was established in 1981 by a group of wine producers seeking to optimise the commercial and logistical management of their wine domaines. This structure is able to meet the needs of wine industry professionals more efficiently thanks to a managed distribution.

Origine

The vines, of an average age of 30 years, are located in the “Montorge” climat. The reddish soils are clay-limestone.

Montorge is located on a hillside near the domaine and face south. (1.30 ha of vineyards)

Vinification

After pressing in a pneumatic press (gentle extraction), fermentation is carried out in 500 l French oak barrels and malolactic fermentation is fully completed. Ageing lasts for 14 to 18 months depending on the characteristics and overall quality of the vintage.

Depending on the year, Yann Flandre might age the wine on its lees.

Notes de dégustation

Montorge is the domaine’s most complex wine.

The nose presents lovely fruity notes of citrus with a dash of minerality. Open on the nose, the palate matches the aromas found on the nose with fruity notes and a touch of citrus here and there. The wine is succulent on the palate with lovely power and a certain “sucrosity”. The wine’s length on the palate will delight lovers of fine white Burgundy.

The wine can be enjoyed in its youth but will also be appreciated after 10 years’ cellar-ageing.

Mets d'accompagnements

Due to its complex character, this wine will pair nicely with shellfish and white meat in a sauce or stew. Yann Flandre recommends it with a fruit-based dessert.
