Origine
Top of the range... A well-balanced wine... Our Clos Rousseau comes from 2 plots of vines located in the "Grand Clos Rousseau" (planted in 1980) and the "Petit Clos Rousseau" (planted in 1955).
Vinification
Vinification: cold pre-fermentation maceration (5 days), alcoholic fermentation (13 days) post fermentation maceration (10 days). Ageing: the wine is transferred into barrels while warm and is aged for 14 months: 12 months in barrel on the lees without racking, followed by 2 months in vat. 100% in oak barrels, of which 30% are new.
Notes de dégustation
The Petit Clos and the Grand Clos are very complementary. Petit Clos, with vines growing on a limestone bedrock, lends the wine its mineral structure and a very fine and elegant red fruit character. Grand Clos, situated on clay-marl soil, adds richness and power along with aromas of lovely ripe black fruit.
The three cuvées are vinified separately. We seek to achieve the perfect balance between structure, elegance and aromatic complexity. This is a fruity, concentrated and ethereal wine.
Mets d'accompagnements
White and red meats (grilled or in a sauce), mature cheeses.
