Origine
The vines, of an average age of 30 years, are located in the climat of “Les Chaniots”, which means pebbles. In fact, this clay-limestone climat is made up of brown soils and flint.
Les Chaniots is located at the foot of a hill to the southeast of the domaine and lies close to Jully les Buxy. (1ha of vineyards)
Vinification
After pressing in a pneumatic press (gentle extraction), fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats and malolactic fermentation is fully completed. The 14-18 months ageing in vat preserves the wine’s finesse and the freshness of the fruit.
Depending on the year, Yann Flandre might age the wine on its lees.
Notes de dégustation
The nose presents lovely mineral notes. Due to the nature of the soils, “Les Chaniots” produces the domaine’s “tautest” wines.
Open on the nose, the palate matches the aromas found on the nose with mineral and citrus notes. Clean entry and a lovely long, delectable finish. Bright, light-gold hue.
To enjoy it with a fresh character, drink within 2-3 years. Its structure will also allow it to be cellar-aged for 6-10 years.
Mets d'accompagnements
Ideal with anything “from the sea”.
